THE Corinella Boat Ramp area is being made wider to make more room for cars to enter and exit.
Works to cut back the corner at the bottom of Peters Street began on Tuesday, July 11 and will take two weeks to complete.
It will provide a wider tarmac area for boat rigging and derigging, and cars with trailers exiting the area will no longer need to swing out across the path of entering traffic.
The work is part of the Corinella Boat Ramp upgrade, which will continue over the next two years.

Salmon the prize catch
WINTER is always a quiet time for fishing, so it’s not surprising that not too many fish were weighed in this weekend at the Venus Bay Angling Club’s July competition.
Those who did brave the rain and cold winds caught salmon on the beaches.
Prize winners were: 1st Michael DeHamer, salmon (1.22kg) for 611 points; 2nd Joe Griscti, salmon (1.12kg) for 560 points; 3rd Paul DeHamer, salmon (680g) for 340 points.
