THE Wonthaggi Festival next year is expected to show off the town’s incredible talent and laneways in April.
Following on from this year’s successful festival, previously called the Wonthaggi Laneways Festival, the sub-committee is working behind the scenes to make next year’s event bigger and better.
The sub-committee organising the event held a meeting last month to discuss the festival.
Wonthaggi Business and Tourism secretary Terry Earl said a stage will be brought in and the town will be filled with activities.
“Then at the bottom in Apex Park is where we’ll have all the rides and carnival stuff for the kids as well,” he said.
“There will be a second stage and Michael Green from Drift Media is going to try and organise a couple of light shows.”
He said the YMCA will be organising events as well, including concerts and DJs.
“Fortunately, we did the paperwork last year to put together all the plans so we’ve got everything laid out, all the nuts and bolts.
“We’ve just got to change the dates and change the artists. There is a lot of work to be done again, but it’s good and it’ll be good fun.”
