Leongatha Town’s Amila Ratnaike made 191 to win the game against Phillip Island.

•A Grade Division 1
LEONGATHA Town is off the bottom of the A1 ladder and they have one man to thank – Amila Ratnaike who scored 191 in his team’s win against Phillip Island at Cowes.
The innings included a staggering 14 sixes, but remarkably, there was no guarantee the Scorpions would win when Ratnaike was dismissed on the first ball of the last over.
The score was on 260 and
Town still needed eight runs for the win.
Sam Clark was the new man in, but Phillip Island left the field out to protect the boundary.
Clark scored an easy single and allowed Jareth Hume to finish the job with a couple of lusty blows, dispatching Eli Richards for a six to win the game.
The next top scorer for Town behind Ratnaike was Madura Madusanka with 18.
Kilcunda-Bass are now in the relegation hot seat.
They were never in the hunt chasing OMK’s 3/476 at Outtrim.
Jake Cochrane, Peter Dell and Nathan Cant all took three wickets each as Kilcunda-Bass was rolled for 173. Andrew Donohue made 80 which included 13 fours and a six.
They had another go with the bat as OMK pressed for an outright win, and finished the day 4/124 after some hard hitting from Ash Larcombe and Jaydan Tregear.
Club made light work of the target set by Korumburra at
McMahon Reserve, cruising to 3/204 with Sam Huitema the star with 85, while Ryan Thomas
was impressive again with an
unbeaten 58.
Club sent the visitors back in for 32 overs and it was slow going. The Cobras were 1/43 when stumps were pulled.
Glen Alvie had a shocker with the bat against Inverloch on the Inverloch turf.
Kit Rotthier made the most of the new ball with a couple of early wickets. He came back later and finished with four, while Lewie Rankin claimed three after cleaning up the tail. Glen Alvie all out for just 97.
