Susan Straw (C Grade), Dot Christie (A Grade) and Heather Sullivan (B Grade) were the scratch winners.

Handicap winners were Susan Straw (C Grade), Sheila Constantine (A Grade) and Heather Sullivan (B Grade).

LEGENDARY Meeniyan golfer Dot Christie won both the South Gippsland Singles and Seniors championship events held at the Meeniyan Golf Club on Monday last week.
Dot’s won close to 50 club championships at the course, and numerous regional titles.
She carded an 83 off the stick to win the singles title, two shots ahead of Andrea Thorson, also from Meeniyan.
The event was postponed by bad weather conditions earlier in May.
There was a good field from all South Gippsland clubs and the players enjoyed the course in fine clear conditions. So much better than the original date.
The draw was seeded so the lowest handicappers hit off in bright sunshine but very cool temperatures, later players had slightly warmer conditions but no one complained about the heat.
The winners for the day burnt up the course leaving the rest of the field in their wake.
Dot also won the Senior Championship with 75 net (8).
A Grade handicap winner was Sheila Constantine from Meeniyan with a fine 74 net (16).
B Grade scratch winner with 99 was Heather Sullivan from Woorayl Golf Club.
Heather also won the B Grade Handicap event and B Grade seniors’ event with 80 net (19).
C Grade scratch winner was another from Meeniyan, Susan Straw who had 104 despite a horror score on the last hole. Susan also won the handicap event with 76 net (29). The C Grade Senior event was won by Maree Anderson with 25 points on a count back.
