More than 50 people turned up to the fundraising event on Friday at the Hicksborough General Store and Café for Daniel Gervasi – who’s battling Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
The 22-year-old was overwhelmed with the support from the community, his mum Christine said last week.
“To see so many people here is just fantastic,” she said on Friday.
“We have lots of prizes to give away through a raffle and that’s only possible because of this tremendous amount of support from businesses and just everyone.
“He works at Bunnings in Wonthaggi and all his colleagues have shown so much support, like helping with a garden working bee and other things around his new house.
“They even visited him in hospital and just the other day they all passed the hat around and raised quite a bit between the staff.”
