The Minister for Ports is seeking expressions of interest for fi ve positions, including the Chairman, of the Gippsland Ports Committee of Management Incorporated, more commonly referred to as the Gippsland Ports Board. The term of appointment is from 1 August 2017 to 31 July 2019.
Gippsland Ports manages the local ports of Anderson Inlet, Corner Inlet & Port Albert, Gippsland Lakes, Snowy River and Mallacoota as a Committee of Management appointed under the Crown Land (Reserves) Act 1978.
The purpose of the Board is to provide strategic direction for the management and operations of the ports, and to ensure good organisational governance.
These appointments represent a major leadership opportunity to become part of an important regional organisation.
Applicants will be shortlisted on the basis of high-level knowledge and expertise in one or more of the following fields: strategic planning; organisational governance; financial management or public administration; or experience in related sectors including port management and tourism.
The Board meets 11 times per year, generally on the third Monday of the month. Appointments are part-time positions for a two-year term. Remuneration is paid in accordance with government policy.
