Under 12B
WITH a number of players away at school camp and ill, LKFC and coach Gerry were very grateful to the players who answered the call up early Sunday morning. The weather was perfect for the first round of the 2024 season. As a number of new players took to the pitch. Cooper in goals did a wonderful job in his first game. Chayce was a standout in his first game for the Knights as he tore up the pitch and scored. This wonderfully competitive game ended 3-2 Mirboo North’s way.

WITH new coach Aidan Hall at the helm and fresh off their Korumburra Cup preseason win Leongatha’s U14s were keen to start their season. With wonderful passing play the game was dominated by Leongatha’s possession. Mirboo North goal keeper Raden was incredible in goals as he prevented the Knights from scoring for the majority of the early part of the game. Eventually, Leongatha found the back of the net thanks to captain Noah Bowman and subsequently a number of goals were scored from different players, indicating the depth of the team.

Senior Womens
AFTER their win the previous week at the Korumburra Preseason cup, the Lady Knights were keen to kick off their season. With a squad brimming with junior players making the transition to senior play it was exciting to watch a number of players make their debut. Congratulations to Pallas and Olivia for scoring their first goals. There was wonderful link up play between the midfield and defence as Mirboo North struggled to form an attack fielding only ten players. Leongatha went on to win the match 7-0.
