One day in September. Acting Premier Peter Ryan and his wife Trish were out on the centre of the MCG last Saturday after hosting a reception for members of the Australian Paralympics Team.

GIPPSLAND South MP Peter Ryan had his own moment on the hallowed turf at the MCG in September last Saturday when discharging his duties as Acting Premier, while Premier Baillieu is on leave.
As part of a round of busy duties on the weekend, Mr Ryan and his wife Trish hosted a government reception for the victorious members of the Australian Paralympics Team.
After a get-together in one of the hospitality rooms at the ground, the athletes did a victory lap of ‘The G’ to rapturous applause ahead of the big preliminary final match between Hawthorn and Adelaide.
“The Paralympics was an absolute breath of fresh air after all the tension at the Olympics a few weeks earlier and we’re all extremely proud of their achievements,” Mr Ryan said.
However, the local MP was still keenly interested in the outcome of the Gippsland League grand finals at Morwell on the same day, warmly congratulating the electorate’s clubs, Sale and Leongatha, on their successes on the day in football and netball.
Mrs Ryan was delighted to be out in the sunshine, supporting her husband, after a bout of illness.
