Action from last Saturday’s rain-marred first round of LDCA cricket.

THERE were no results in Round 1 of the A Grade, Division 1 season with rain washing out the opening round.
Matches between Nerrena and the Imperials, and OMK and the Wonthaggi Miners saw the most action, before rain brought a halt to the games at the first drinks break after 20 overs.
Korumburra and Inverloch managed to sneak in 10 overs, with the match between the promoted Phillip Island and the reigning premiers the Wonthaggi Workers seeing no play.
At East Campus, Imps batsmen Gary Sauvarin and Nick Eddy were rebuilding the innings after three cheap wickets when the rain came.
Nerrena were on top having the Imps at 3/39 before Eddy and Sauvarin put on close to 50 runs to have their side at 3/85 from 20 when play was abandoned.
Christian Eva and Tom Davison picked up one wicket each for the Red Caps.
OMK were in a commanding position against the Miners when rain stopped play at Outtrim.
The Diggers were 2/96 with contributions coming for each of the top order, led by opener Tom Wyatt with 28 and the generous extras column which added 20.
Johnny Armstrong and Joel Piasente were the Miners’ wicket takers.
Inverloch were off to a good start against Korumburra at the Korumburra Recreation Reserve.
Opener Wal Taberner looked in ominous touch hitting a couple of boundaries before play was stopped at 1/37 after 10 overs.
Cobra convert Ash Meade’s season with his new side started well, picking up the lone wicket for Korumburra.
