THERE’S still some lingering anger in the Hallston community after last week’s DSE ‘controlled burn’ got out of control and burnt 570 hectares of bush, plantation and private property. But, following the prompt action by DSE crews over the weekend, to repair the damage, the community is starting to soften its approach to the government’s land managers. They’ll certainly get a different reception when they host a public meeting in the Hallston Hall this Wednesday evening, from 7pm, to the one they got when they met local residents in the same venue last Thursday when emotions were high.
