ashovalThe condition of the Korumburra Showgrounds Oval is once again under scrutiny with the Bulldogs set to host the first elimination final this Saturday.

DESPITE persistent talk about the condition of the Korumburra Showgrounds Oval the Alberton Football League says rumours of a late change to finals venues are untrue. Talk was rife this week that the league was set to change this Saturday’s first elimination final at Korumburra to a more suitable venue following recent heavy rain. With ground issues in the past it was questioned whether the showgrounds would be in good enough condition before Saturday. But Alberton Football League Secretary Lynn Whelan said she was not aware of any plans to switch venues. “There has been a lot of rumours, but there is nothing on the agenda for tonight’s general meeting about that,” she said. “I only spoke to John Schelling this morning and he did not mention anything.” Ms Whelan said any rumours of a last minute switch had not come from the Alberton Football League Board of Directors who will ultimately have the final decision. “There are no plans as of yet and hopefully it stays that way.” Korumburra Football Club President Mick Hopkins said he was unaware of any talk about moving the final and said he was happy with the way the ground was holding up ahead of Saturdays final.
