THE Stony Creek Football Netball Club and the Meeniyan Golf Club have combined over the weekend to run at successful campdraft at Dumbalk.
The two-day event attracted 650 entries from all over Gippsland with the event part of the Gippsland Campdraft Association calendar.
It is the first time the two clubs, which have many joint members, have combined to run the event.
President of the Stony Creek Football Netball Club, Neil Cope, said the event was a success.
“It went very well, the Campdraft Association was very happy with it, and we have had good reports back from everybody,” Neil said.
“We had 650 entries over the weekend, so it was a busy weekend for everyone.
“Stony Creek and the Golf Club have both done very well out of it so hopefully we will be able to hold it on an annual basis.”
Neil said the event couldn’t have gone ahead without the support of many people.
“We have to say a huge thank you to the people that donated their cattle, Kevin James Livestock Transport was fantastic and we couldn’t have done it without him,” Neil said.
The Stony Creek Football Netball Club’s major fundraiser is the Stony Creek Rodeo which will be held on January 18.
