dogs2CONFUSION reigns supreme at the Bass Coast Shire Council with regard to the dogs-off-beach row at Inverloch.

Inverloch Councillor Jordan Crugnale threw a spanner in the works today when she said on ABC Radio this morning that the dog trial had “been put on hold” until a new motion could be put to council for consideration at its meeting next Wednesday, December 11 at Cowes (from 5pm).

Cr Crugnale was asked to clarify that statement for Sentinel-Times readers.

“Technically is has started (the ban/trial) but it hasn’t been enacted, no signs have gone up or anything and they aren’t going out and enforcing the motion passed at the October meeting (to start the ban/trial on December 1).”

So “technically” you can take your dog out, on leash, on to the beaches at Inverloch anytime at the moment, up until next Wednesday’s council meeting at least and while “technically” you will be breaking the law, you won’t receive an infringement notice.

If you don’t think this sounds like a workable arrangement, email the council on:
