MERIDIAN Poetic Charm has just been awarded Reserve Champion Newcomer Showhunter Hack at the Barastoc Horse of The Year Show 2014.
The young five year-old Arabian Warmblood mare has been on quite the journey over the past 18 months with owner Denelle Wake from Esprit Performance Horses in Tenby Point.
The filly was purchased from the stud Meridian Estate Warmbloods in Queensland back in 2012 as an unbroken three year-old.
Since then Denelle has worked to break Meridian Poetic Charm in to saddle and shown in hand over the 2012-2013 season for great results including first place Best Presented Warmblood at the Royal Melbourne Horse Show 2013.
This past year has been her newcomer season under saddle.
Training six days a week the hard work has paid off and Meridian Poetic Charm has excelled claiming numerous champion and reserve champion broad sashes over the state at various agricultural and Arabian horse society shows now also including Barastoc Horse of the Year 2014.
Her owner is ecstatic with her achievement s and is excited for what the future will hold for this mare as both a show horse, dressage horse and future breeding prospect.
Meridian Poetic Charm is contending for the Australian Continental Equestrian Group Show Horse of the Year award and will be competing at the Equestrian Victoria State Titles in March.
