THE former Korumburra saleyards site will go to auction next month, bringing the site one step closer to being redeveloped.
The auction will be held by Korumburra’s Auddino First National onsite on Friday, October 31 from 11am.
Following a recent extensive clean-up, the Industrial 3 Zone site is set to be sold individually or as a whole.
George Auddino from Auddino First National said the auction is a great chance to attract new investors to the area.
“I think this is a real opportunity for some new people to come into the town,” he said.
“The fact that we have the ability to sell the site individually will really open up the doors for others businesses and employers in the area.”
After years of lobbying by the community to try and get something done with the site, Mr Auddino says the auction is another positive step forward.
“It’s an advancement forward at the site. Whatever happens is going to be better than what is there now.”
With prior offers being considered, Mr Auddino said there has already been plenty of interest from potential buyers.
“We are really happy with how it is going and the interest that has been shown so far,” Mr Auddino said.
“We have been contacted by both Melbourne and local potential buyers which is great.”
