TWENTY two of the best Victorian surfers have been selected to join the Victorian Junior State team for the Australian Junior Surfing Titles to be held at Yallingup in Western Australia this December.
The team includes a large contingent of local surfers including Taj McEntee from Inverloch, Joe van Dijk, Courtney Dunlop, Sophie Fletcher and Codie Jeffrey from Phillip Island.
Surfing Victoria High Performance Manager and State Coach, Adam Robertson is looking forward to seeing the young team perform on the national stage.
“This year’s state team is a very young team,” he said.
“We have got some great surfers and they seem like they’ve all improved a lot since our state events a few months ago.
“I’m really excited to take the team away and hope to bring back some solid results.”
McEntee and Van Dijk will join the Under 18 boys team, Dunlop the Under 18 girls team, Fletcher the Under 16 team and Jeffrey the Under 14s.
Van Dijk will also compete in the Under 19 Schools division Allstar team and Dunlop in the Under 19 girls Allstar team.
