THE Korumburra Agricultural and Pastoral Society’s fundraising efforts for the recently purchased former saleyards land were given a boost by Burra Foods last week.
The society was the winning bidder on the rear 6670ms block at the auction back in October.
The $120,000 block is set to be used for future expansion of the showgrounds site, however the society needs to raise funds for the purchase.
Last week Burra Foods helped the fundraising effort with a $2500 donation.
CEO Grant Crothers said he was thrilled to be able to help the society, saying its plan for future expansion was great for the whole community.
“Each year we make a donation to the community and this year the Agricultural and Pastoral Society is our cause of choice,” Mr Crothers said.
“It is a great initiative for the whole community.
“We have committed $2500 and are looking for more out of our Community Fund.”
Korumburra Agricultural and Pastoral Committee member Bruce Holman said they were thrilled with the donation.
“It has been tremendous the way Burra Foods and the whole community has got behind this and are helping the society out for the future generations,” he said.
