IT IS that time of year again and Korumburra-Bena Football Netball Club Juniors are about to launch 2015 with an exciting change to the club’s colours.
As with the seniors, the juniors have become the Korumburra-Bena Giants, in a new era for the club.
The first training and information night for the Under 13s and Under 11s will be next Wednesday, March 4 from 4.30pm until 6pm at the Korumburra Showgrounds.
All boys and girls aged between nine and 13 (not turning 14 this year) are welcome to come along.
Coordinator of the Korumburra juniors Andrew Newton said the junior club is all about the kids having fun and learning to play the great game of AFL.
“We invite all kids along with all skill levels,” Mr Newton said.
“We have some great activities throughout the year, including fun days go-karting in Melbourne, bon-fires, pie nights and the occasional game of footy!
“It is a great bonding club and the kids come out with some great mates as they make the transition from primary to high school.”
The Under 11s all wear soft helmets at training and during games, making it a safe environment for them to learn to play football.
The Under 13s coach for 2015 is Gav Furness and Under 11s is Craig Walker.
“Both Gav and Craig have coached juniors at our club in past seasons and are great with the kids,” Mr Newton said.
The Korumburra-Bena Football Netball Club will also be holding a combined training session for all footballers and netballers, which will be a fun night with the all ages from 11s to seniors on Friday, March 27 from 5.30pm. All welcome.
