celebratingThe 1984/85 Town Cricket Club premiership team will reunite this Saturday.

THE Leongatha Town Cricket Club will celebrate three premierships from different eras this weekend, and all past players are invited.
It’s been 50 years since the 1964/65 flag.
Geoff McRae was the star of that team. The former district cricketer only spent a relatively short time in the area, but made a lasting impact on the game.
He was instrumental in starting a junior competition and lower grade cricket.
The club will also celebrate Town’s 1984/85 A Grade premiership which was a win against the powerful Nerrena team.
Gary ‘Slug’ Young was the hero for Town that day while his brother Stu was the skipper.
Members of the Leongatha Town C Grade side from 1994/95 will also return. This was the team’s second consecutive premiership.
The club will celebrate the flags during and after the A Grade match at Scorpion Park on Saturday.
