Sprint_carsTop title favorite Travis Millar 93 in action with David Alford, he will be among the competitors battling it out at Nyora this Saturday night.

JUST under 40 top contenders have locked in their nominations for this weekends’ Total Autos Pakenham Victorian Wingless Sprints Championship at Nyora raceway.
The event is scheduled for this Saturday night March 28 and it is sure to be a hard fought, elbows up event due to the title that is on offer combined with the unique challenges that Nyora demands of a racer.
Two men on the entry list stand out as the seasons’ top stars but one has a slight edge.
Sam Wren and Travis Millar both have 4 wins apiece so far this season with Wren taking victories at the superfast Warrnambool speedway as well as two at Simpson and another at Redline.
Millar has also scored four wins including two at Rosdale and the most recent being the $1000 to win show at Mid-Western Speedway.
The other win however, that tips the balance slightly in his favour came right here at Nyora Raceway.
On top of that Millar was the standout performer at another Nyora meeting until the main event was called off due to a time curfew.
On balance therefore, Millar edges ahead slightly due to his local knowledge and proven performance.
As said before however, Nyora is different to all other tracks and the quality of field is deep.
Current Australian Championship runner-up Andy Hibbert is always strong and then there are the likes of James Wren, Daniel Storer, Tony Moule and Peter Logue who’ve all scored multiple features this season while South Australian Travis Beasley, local Adam Greenwood and Kane Newcombe have also taken main event victories.
Other home town hopes wrest on Dayn Bentvelzen who won a Nyora feature last season and Ebony Hobson and rising star Matthew Hurley.
Wayne Hurford has never won a Wingless Sprint feature at Nyora but has tons of experience and wins in the Mini Sprints at this venue.
Add to that the fact that he was runner up in both of the last two big money events and the veteran racer is peaking at just the right time.
In action as the support category is the always exciting Standard Saloons. The Gippsland region is chock full of top notch Standard Saloons and a quality field is expected to put on a big show for the fans in attendance.
