They’re coming from everywhere
SOUTH Australia sure is a long way for teams to be travelling for this weekend’s 2015 Wonthaggi Human Powered Vehicle Grand Prix, but they wouldn’t miss it.
The SA teams will be among 92 competing from noon on Saturday (March 21) until noon on Sunday in the 24 hour race around the Wonthaggi Recreation Reserve’s 1.3km circuit.
Practice will be held from 9am on Saturday morning.
Race committee members are thrilled with how the race is coming together and have worked tirelessly to make sure this event is a standout.
Amongst this year’s features, the YMCA will again be running the FReeZA youth event on Friday, March 20 from 8pm at the YMCA building.
FReeZA is an exciting and innovative youth event, enabling young people to enjoy fully supervised drug, alcohol and smoke-free events.
This should really be a fun night for the teenagers with music and a movie to kick-start the Wonthaggi Human Powered Vehicle Grand Prix.
Local businesses are sponsoring the Grand Prix via banners on the race corners. Food outlets are also part of the coupon sponsorship package.
Coupon booklets will be out the week of the race and available at the 3mFM outside broadcast tent, at the sponsor’s shops themselves or at race headquarters on the weekend.
Make sure that you support the local sponsors with your patronage.
3mFM will be onsite with an outside broadcast on Saturday from 10am to 1pm with plenty of interviews, live music and giveaways, so make sure you visit them over the weekend.
Everyone is invited, especially families, with race entry free for spectators.
Come and help make this event a local winner!
