THE Korumburra Motorcycle Club hosted a very successful Round 4 of the Gippsland Motocross Championship at Outtrim across the weekend.
The event had 450 entries with 260 juniors participating on Saturday and 190 seniors competing on Sunday from motorcycle clubs including Blue Rock, Bairnsdale, Corner Inlet, Dandenong, Maffra/Sale, Rosebud, Traralgon, Yarram and the Quad Riders Club of Victoria.
The event was the club’s biggest event of the year in terms of participants and will raise upwards of $10,000 for the club.
The canteen was busy and many riders camped at the track overnight on Friday and Saturday.
Many volunteers from the Korumburra Motorcycle Club and the Leongatha Motorcycle Club were on deck from early in the morning until dusk, but Korumburra Motorcycle Club president Graham Bird wouldn’t have it any other way.
“It’s been a really good event for the club and it’s really well run by Gippsland,” he said.

“There are people from all over the place. The track’s always well prepared and people always comment on how well the track’s prepared.
“These are not the biggest jumps or anything like that in the series and some people don’t like it because of that but some people do like it.”
The next Gippsland Series round will be held at Rosebud on July 11 and 12.
