SOME of Gippsland and the Mornington Peninsula’s best young netballers braved icy conditions on Sunday for the Leongatha & District Netball Association’s annual junior netball tournament.
The Netball Victoria event attracted teams in the 11, 13, 15 and 17 & Under age groups.
Teams represented associations and football/netball clubs.
The top performing local team was the Inverloch-Kongwak 15 & Under Open team which won its division.

The Leongatha Parrots won the 13 & Under Reserve title, while the Parrots were runners-up in the 17 & Under Open girls section.
Organisers thanked all players, umpires, spectators, parents, clubs, volunteers and committee for braving the elements and making the tournament a great success.
The rain held off for most of the day, but came in sideways briefly around finals time.
