FORMER Leongatha girl Amanda Wilson is peaking at the right time in preparation for the Hawaii Ironman in October.
She ran in the Run Melbourne half marathon fun run on July 26, crossing the line as the first female (across all age groups) and was 16th overall.
She finished the 10km section in just 36:45 minutes and completed the 21kms in 1:18:52.2.
The result was an impressive personal best for Wilson and sets her up well for her further training for the Ironman Championships.
Wilson will compete with fellow tri-athlete, Inverloch’s Gavin Slavin.
Slavin’s training has been disrupted as he works off-shore and instead trains on a stationary bike and treadmill.
The Age Run Melbourne fun run raises money for charities and set its target to raise $2.25 million this year.
