A DRIVER involved in a serious car accident near Korumburra earlier this year has kept her licence after pleading guilty to careless driving at the Korumburra Magistrates’ Court.
The 40 year-old Leongatha woman had been working in her job as a mail delivery driver in Jeetho when the accident occurred.
Police Prosecutor Leading Senior Constable Andrea Webster told the court at around 10.30am the woman had just delivered mail and was waiting to turn onto Jeetho Road.
“The defendant was pulling out of a driveway and has failed to give way to an oncoming vehicle travelling east along the road,” Ld Snr Const Webster said.
“The cars have collided and the defendant’s vehicle was spun around while the other car lost control and continued through a guard rail.
“The defendant received serious injuries and was taken by air ambulance to The Alfred Hospital.”
The Magistrate told the defendant that he had “no doubt for a moment that the experience was a horrific one”.
She was fined $500 without conviction.
