WHETHER it’s a mother duck and her little family crossing the Strzelecki Highway as footy fans made their way back to South Gippsland from Morwell last Sunday, an echidna crossing the highway near Inverloch or a big delivery truck blocking the road in Leongatha…
You never know what’s around the next corner when you’re out driving so it always pays to travel with caution and with plenty of space to stop just in case.
Last Sunday, as has been the case ever since the Woolworths store opened in Leongatha, traffic was again held up in Peart Street while a semi-trailer made its deliveries.
The site in the centre of town was never planned well and deliveries have always been an issue.
With the South Gippsland Shire Council considering the development of new shire offices at the moment, maybe some additional room could be freed up for parking and delivery access but it’s bound to have a big price tag attached.
