THE Korumburra Showgrounds will be transformed next Saturday night into an amazing arena of thrills and spills when the Monster Truck Spectacular rolls into town.
The event will feature a huge display of American imported monster trucks plus performances from Australia’s leading freestyle motocross team.
Event organiser and professional monster truck driver Troy Garcia says the event is a great night out for the whole family.
“There is a really good vibe around the town. Everyone seems to be really excited about the event,” Mr Garcia said.
“It is the first time we have held it in Korumburra and it is a great opportunity for the whole family to come along and see the spectacular monster trucks.”
The monster truck display will no doubt be the highlight of the event, with a fantastic show set to thrill the local crowd.
“On the night we will have 15 cars crushing on and off the field,” Mr Garcia said.
To ensure the protection of the showgrounds oval, the event team will strategically place the obstacles for the monster trucks in such a manner that minimal, if any damage will be caused to the ground’s surface.
“The free style motocross is also going to be a fantastic show. It features one of the former Crusty Demon riders plus current Nitro Circus members,” Mr Garcia said.
“They will be performing the latest tricks and backflips on the night.”
Among the tricks will be a bike performing a backflip over an O’Neill’s Bulk Tanker.
Mr Garcia says the event is designed for the whole family.
“The young kids are always in awe of the sheer size of the trucks and the wheels,” he said.
“It is a wonderful relaxed atmosphere and we encourage families to bring along a picnic blanket and chairs, find themselves a spot then sit back and enjoy the night.”
While there will be a small grandstand on the night, spectators are able to wander throughout the event, taking in all the different performances on offer.
“People can sit where they want to sit,” he said.
“We will have different people that will like different aspects of the show, so we like to let people choose to sit where they would like.”
Gates will be open from 3pm with the show set to start at 6pm until 8.30pm. The night will conclude with a massive fireworks display, so be sure to stick around until the end.
There will be plenty of drinks available on the night. See advertisement in this weeks edition of the Sentinel-Times for ticketing information.
