IT’S ONLY early, but it would appear there’s a third contender in the race for the Alberton A Grade netball title.
Rivals Korumburra-Bena and Dalyston have dominated the competition for the past several years but Inverloch-Kongwak will be a serious threat to both in 2016.
The Sea Eagles had a thrilling draw with the reigning premiers Korumburra-Bena at Inverloch on Saturday.
Both teams had periods of dominance over the other in what was an enthralling contest.
I-K goalers Janelle Smyth and Amy Hodge provided height and strength that seriously tested the Giants defence which included the league’s best Christie Hillberg.
There’s some pace and skills through the middle too with Emily Azzopardi, Sophie Scott and Marni Purvis, while Kelsey Buxton and Lindsey Boddy made Giant shooters Emma Kyle and Kim Hillberg work hard for every goal.

Netball results in this weeks edition of the South Gippsland Sentinel-Times.
