VOLKSWAGEN Golf GTI and R models are seriously fast and powerful cars but the highway isn’t the place to go testing out their prowess as one local driver found out last week.
The driver and his turbo-charged Golf were stopped by police after being clocked doing in excess of 150km/h and the car impounded.
If found guilty of speeding in court, the driver will lose his/her licence and be heavily fined.
Not only that, but the speedster will also have to pay for the cost of having the car impounded and the cost of having it released from the police garage; at further substantial cost.
Excessive speed on a public road? Not a good idea!
