WHEN the Moffatt family purchased ‘Vista Farm’ in 1997 at 110 Trew Road, Woolamai, it was a blank canvas.
They were attracted to the magnificent views of the San Remo Bridge right across the water to the Dandenongs.
Firstly, they built a nice four bedroom home in 1998.
Over time they planted 800 Olive trees and fenced their 72 acres into five paddocks.
They then developed three dams and then set about locking up the 12 acres of old growth forest complete with huge trees, some tree ferns and alive with wildlife.
Eagles nest in the high trees within the forest.
The country is flat to undulating in the front half rising to steep hill country at the rear of the property.
Pasture has been developed, super spread and recently they have run about 35 steers, fattening them into bullocks.
Last year they sold bullocks which reached over $2000 per head.
Great views, peace and quiet just off the Bass Highway on the way to Phillip Island near the Woolamai Racecourse.
The Moffatt family are planning a move to South Australia to live and have instructed Phelan & Henderson to auction Vista Farm on site on Saturday, April 16 at 11am.
