THE rain held off and the sun shone for the 6th annual Woorayl District Primary Schools Athletics Carnival.
Schools from across the district came and put their best students forward.
There was numerous records broken throughout the day including both the boys and girls 12+ age group 1500m by Kodie Walker (Korumburra Primary School) and Georgia Burns (Chairo Christian School); 11 and 10 year old boys 1500m records by Tyler Richards (Leongatha Primary School) and Ned Collins (Inverloch Kongwak Primary School).
Georgie Burns also beat the 800m record and equalled the high jump record.
The overall results were: Leongatha PS 279 points; Inverloch 218 points; St Laurence’s 163 points.
The winners of the Ian Brewster Handicap Shield were St Laurence’s with 125 points, followed by Inverloch Kongwak on 106 points and Leongatha PS with 78 points.
The top performing students will now go on to the Division athletics meet held later in the year.
