PHILLIP Island Golf Club held its 67th Annual June Tournament, sponsored by the Cowes Community Bank Branch of Bendigo Bank for the 13th year.
Held over five days until Monday, June 13 with 466 golfers competing from around Victoria with many players having repeatedly attended the event over the years.
The weather for the five days varied from ideal sunny conditions, to drenching rain on the Saturday which turned the Men’s event into a 9 hole competition, and then back to pleasant conditions for the Mixed Event on the Sunday and the Men’s and Ladies 4BBB event on the Monday.
Luckily all golf events could be held, mostly thanks to the course superintendent Dan Walker and his dedicated staff for presenting the course in such magnificent condition.
This year’s tournament was a huge success with enormous contribution from the numerous club volunteers and many sponsors.
