IT WAS celebrity night at The Diary of Anne Frank in Wonthaggi last Thursday night when local director Josh Gardiner and his mother Faye were joined by some of Josh’s fellow cast members from the Sydney production of Rent including former Australian Idol winner Casey Donovan and Jack O’Reilly.
Both remarked on the high standard of the show and also the production values, including the set built by Josh’s father Kevin Gardiner of Leongatha.
The play closed on Saturday night but not before playing to near full houses on both Friday and Saturday night, while the matinee on Saturday was also popular.
The cast; from Anne Frank played by Year 10 Newhaven College student Cluanie Swanwick, to Bron Kalos as her mother, Brad Boucher and Jaz Kaye as the guest couple with son Peter Van Daan played by Adam Turner and Simon Furniss who brought it home so powerfully in the end, it was a fine addition to the strong calendar of local theatre events which now swings its attention to the Little Shop of Horrors which opens in Wonthaggi in little more than a month’s time.
Response grows for Diary of Anne Frank
