LEONGATHA’S Under 18s have progressed to the second week of finals after a 22-point win over Maffra in the Elimination Final at Traralgon on Sunday.
The Parrots will now play Moe in the Semi-Final this Sunday at Moe.
The Parrots skipped away to a six-point lead by the first change and continued to have the Eagles’ measure throughout the contest.
Two goals to one in the second quarter and a further two goals to zero in the third quarter set up a match-winning 27-point lead at the final break.
Maffra hit back with two goals to one in the final term but the damage was done as the Parrots ran out 22-point winners.
Tim Sauvarin was the Parrot’s best, along with Harrison McGannon (two goals), Kyle Cooper and Sam Forrester.
