A WORKSHOP focusing on business management, financial planning and risk management was held for Gippsland farmers on Friday at the Inverloch Broadbeach resort.
A group of 14 farmers from all areas of Gippsland gathered together to listen to the advice and guidance of Warren Blyth from Meridian Agriculture.
Established in 1983, Meridian Agriculture is one of Australia’s most experienced agricultural consulting firms.
The company works nationally to provide independent advice, integrated services and innovative solutions for family business, corporate and indigenous agriculture, industry and government.
Mr Blyth, a senior farm business advisor, spoke about the importance of planning and minimising risks.
“We will help you to focus on different ways you can manage the farm, given recent dry conditions,” Warren said.
“This session is about finding ways to plan ahead and to focus.”
The interactive planning session focused on helping farmers with strategic planning, risk prevention, and financial planning for the future.
All participants in the workshop were treated to a delicious lunch from the kitchen of the Manna Gum restaurant.
