FOR the second consecutive year, hard-working members of the Rose Lodge Op Shop team have made a significant donation of more than $100,000 to the residents of Rose Lodge.
The donation of $106,000 was handed to the president of Rose Lodge Board of Management, Bill Berry, at the 54th annual general meeting.
Mr Berry said he admired the hard work of the volunteers in raising such a considerable amount for the benefit of Rose Lodge residents and the community.
With the lodge at near capacity, the lodge has provided for more than 40 per cent of residents who are not financially able to pay a refundable accommodation deposit.
“Donations such as this support the lodge’s efforts in providing for the financially disadvantaged in the community,” Mr Berry said.
It was noted at the general meeting by the treasurer of the op shop that each year the shop has surpassed the previous year’s donation to the lodge, and that they were looking forward to the challenge in exceeding this donation next year.
