I read with absolute shock that Bass Coast Health was discontinuing surgical procedures for children under 12 years of age.
Surely these children and their families deserve good hospital service.
I cannot believe that a sizeable regional hospital would let these people down.
Do they not realise the difficulty and considerable costs that families endure to have their children sent to a metropolitan hospital.
The splitting of the family unit whilst a child is far away in hospital is very stressful for families.
Surely with financial control in place at BCH they can afford to have the relevant staff on board to support the service of sound paediatric medical support to the region.
