THE community is being asked to come along or pitch in to help raise funds for Mark ‘Kel’ Kelly and his family at an event at the Korumburra Golf Club this Saturday night.
According to organisers, Kel has recently been diagnosed with terminal throat cancer and it is Kel’s final wish to go on a holiday with his wife Kerry, something that they have unfortunately never been able to do or afford.
“This event will help raise the money needed for him to be able to do this, also to help with the costs involved to support them through this tough time and to ensure a nice funeral service can be held in Kel’s memory, when the time comes,” said one of the organisers.
“We hope to raise enough funds to cover these costs and to put money into Cancer Research Funds and our local Palliative Care Team who have been an amazing support to the family.
“We look forward to catching up with all of Kel’s family and friends at this event and greatly appreciate the community support to make it possible.
Door entry fee is $10 per head. Kid’s entry is free.
Raffle drawn on the night, tickets for which are available for purchase at $2 per ticket or three for $5.
Prizes include: A trailer load of wood delivered to your door, gift vouchers, meat trays, hair care baskets etc. kindly donated by our local businesses.
If you would like any information about this event or to purchase raffle tickets, please feel free to call Rhiannon on 0409 930 372 or Ashleigh on 0428 119 943.
