YOUNG Eventing rider Molly Barry from Kardella and her off the track mount La Muso, are making the long track to the Australian Three day event in Adelaide again this year.
Seen as the pinnacle of all the events on the calendar for the year in Australia, Adelaide holds the only four star event in the southern hemisphere.
This year is the first year the event will run a three star class at the prestigious venue in Victoria Park.
Molly and La Muso aim to Dressage, Show Jump and navigate their way around what is sure to be a very tough Cross Country Course.
The course is designed and built by international course designer Mike Etherington-Smith who flew out from the United Kingdom earlier last month to begin work on the course.
The cross country course is the only one in the world to be in the middle of a major city.
There are at least four road crossings on the course and it runs through the middle of one of largest parks in the city.
Children can play on the swings and watch horses gallop through the pond and jump over fences in front of them.
Molly hopes to use this event to maintain and develop Muso’s fitness and skill for his first CCI three star event early in December at Wallaby Hill in New South Wales.
If successful this will help qualify herself and her horse for the CCI Four Star at Adelaide next year which will hopefully grab the attention of the selectors for the next World Equestrian Games.
