We definitely are right behind you Burra Foods.
Burra Foods is arguably the best thing that has happened to Korumburra since Murray Goulburn closed its operation here in 1970s.
Most townspeople felt the building would remain empty and become an eyesore for the town.
Along came Burra Foods in 1991 and injected some life back into the town and community.
From there they have gone from strength to strength being Korumburra’s major employer.
The Korumburra Business Association is excited about the prospect of further expansion of this major business and we are right behind you Burra Foods.
We understand the concerns of residents living nearby the plant but Korumburra needs this expansion and we certainly can’t afford to drive this business out of town.
We want to grow alongside them and this way we all prosper.
Burra Foods contributes money back into our community through sponsorships assisting many sporting and community organisations.
Korumburra has a lot to offer and we welcome any business expansion or development.
As a country town we are doing better than most with two new businesses opening in town in the past month.
Let’s keep up the good spirit.
Noelene Cosson, president, Korumburra Business Association.
