THE Loch & District Bowling Club’s annual Men’s three day tournament was a very successful event, with teams arriving from far and wide to join in.
Players came from Cardinia Waters, Toora, Mount Beauty, Kyabram, Richmond United, Korumburra, Meeniyan, and Inverloch.
“This is probably the best attendance we’ve had for a few years,” Loch and istrict’s Greg Hodge said.
“Our members will travel to their clubs for tournaments and they’ll return the favour.”
Visitors stayed in local B&Bs and caravan parks for the weekend-long tournament.
Friday was Mixed Triples Day, the winners being a team from Cardinia Waters, J Van Vust (s), D Dance and S Konins, with runners-up the Kyabram team of Keith Button (s), Mary Grego and Bev Button.
Best last game went to Brenton Hackett, John Kennedy and Jim Garnham of Loch.
The club thanks sponsors Walker Electrics from Korumburra, and Michael Turton from ‘The Tavern’ at Cape Paterson.
Saturday triples were also well attended.
This was a catered day and, thanks to the club catering team, a lovely lunch was provided.
The weather continued hot, but that didn’t deter everyone from having a great day.
Winners of the Saturday Triples were the team from Lang Lang – G Cobett (s), M Kitchen and J Williams, and runners-up were the Loch & District team of Colin Cochrane, John Tuckfield and Alan Seivers.
Best last game went to Keith Button’s team from Kyabram.

Sunday Pairs was played in much better conditions and eight rinks of players enjoyed the day.

Runners-up were the pair from Mt Beauty, Phil Hodge (s) and Rob Christie.   Best Last Game went to Alan Mort (s) and Bill Soulsby.
