FOR an inexpensive family day out, you can’t beat the Rotary Club of Leongatha’s Show ‘n’ Shine, Swap Meet, Craft and Produce Market on this Sunday, March 5 from 9am to 1.30pm.
Children of all ages love seeing the shiny big trucks, the hot rods and classic cars and the glistening motorbikes that fill the Leongatha Velodrome.
Mums and dads will also enjoy browsing the wide variety of stalls as part of the swap meet and craft and produce market under the trees above the oval.
Affordable food and drinks and others activities are all part of the package, and it costs just $15 for a family to enter.
The main drawcard is the show ‘n’ shine where owners of much loved and immaculately presented cars, trucks and bikes proudly display their vehicles.
There’ll be models from the early 1900s through to more contemporary muscle cars and everything in between.
All up there’ll be 28 categories in which the judges will have to select winners, including 10 in the expanded motorcycle category.
To complement the extra interest in bikes, members of the recently formed ‘Gippsland Hog Chapter’, a group of Harley Davidson enthusiasts, will be there, and Traralgon Harley Davidson has come on board as a sponsor and will attend with a great trade stand of Harley Davidson clothing and memorabilia.
The voice of the event will once again be Pinky, known as the best car show commentator in the business.
He comes down from Hawkesbury near Sydney each year to provide his expert knowledge and humour.
The owners of the vehicles are also always happy to share information about their pride and joy.
The exhibitors love how well the event is organised. It’s a slick production, with something always happening, and it’s all finished early in the afternoon.
