THERE was plenty of practice match action on the weekend as the lead-up to the footy season heats up.
Kilcunda-Bass hosted Leongatha at Bass on Saturday, with the oval in magnificent condition.
New coach Brent Macaffer pulled on the boots for the Panthers and was solid through the midfield, while Chris Endres was at his usual best.
After signing with Wonthaggi Power in September, Endres shocked Power officials and returned to his original club recently, leaving a massive gap in the Power midfield and further boosting the Panthers.
But the Parrots looked slicker across the ground with greater leg speed on Saturday, with journeyman Jamie Cann joining the side.
Dalyston hosted Warragul in a six-quarter match with Reserves and Seniors on Saturday.
The ground at Dalyston is in good nick after drainage works were completed during the off season.
Inverloch-Kongwak also hosted a practice match against Seaford, and Korumburra-Bena and Stony Creek faced off at Korumburra.
