THE small hamlet of Archies Creek, north-west of Wonthaggi, is the location for a major drug bust this afternoon.

A search warrant was executed at 12.20pm today at a local timber products site by Drug Task Force personnel and arrests made.

Taken into custody were a 52-year-old Noble Park man and a 57-year-old Sunshine man.

Acting Inspector Brett Kahan said detectives will be at the property for some hours. A forensic team is onsite collecting evidence.

It is understood that a high-ranking police officer will soon be onsite and is expected to make a statement.

There is no connection between the timber products’ site at Archies Creek and the seizure during the week of 903kg of crystal methamphetamine, hidden inside timber floorboards.

It has been reported that this latest seizure involved a cannabis crop.
