WONTHAGGI will host Relay For Life on Saturday and Sunday, November 11 and 12 at the State Coal Mine in Wonthaggi.
Relay For Life brings communities together and incorporates fun, dance, activities, laughter, tears and memories. It’s more than an event – it’s an experience.
Previous Relay For Life events have allowed the Cancer Council to make progress through research, share prevention messages and campaigns throughout the community.
This is all thanks to an outstanding group of volunteers who dedicate their time, for all different reasons, to be part of the global purple movement.
Relay For Life is a community fundraising event that raises funds for cancer research, prevention and support. The guests of honour are those who are living with cancer, those that have survived cancer and of course those we have lost.
Relay For Life is an overnight event that gives participants and teams the opportunity to walk throughout the night together in the fight against cancer.
The event duration is anywhere between 18 and 24 hours.
Participants are encouraged to form teams and work together to try and make sure their team baton is Relayed for the duration of the event (cancer never sleeps, so why should we?).
Teams are welcome to set up and decorate their team sites, be creative and really get amongst the Relay atmosphere.
By getting involved with Relay For Life, you can create a community experience to support locals touched by cancer – and help Hope Lives in Wonthaggi.
Please register a team today by heading to fundraising.cancer.org.au/wonthaggi
