THE National Immunisation Program is in full swing on the Bass Coast, giving parents in the community the chance to immunise their children against disease.
The program offers free immunisation for children two months and older covering all major injections recommended.
The injections are conducted by accredited nurse immunisers and are the easiest and safest way to protect your child from harmful bacteria.
In the Bass Coast Shire, the immunisation outlet points changed at the start of the month.
The original six immunisation centres have been condensed into three mutual locations.
The Cowes and San Remo sessions will now be combined and run from 10.30am to 12.30pm at the St Philips Parish Hall in Cowes.
The sessions will run on Tuesdays, August 8, September 12, October 10, November 14 and December 12.
The Wonthaggi and Inverloch sessions have also been combined and run from 10.30am to 12.30pm at the Wonthaggi Senior Citizens Club Rooms.
Dates of the sessions are Tuesdays, July 18, August 15, September 19, October 17, November 21 and December 19.
The Grantville and Coronet Bay sessions are also combined and will run at the Grantville Transaction Centre on August 10, September 14, October 12, November 9 and December 14.
All children starting school at prep level will need to have an Immunisation History Statement for enrolment purposes.
These statements are automatically sent to your last registered Medicare postal address when your child turns one, two and five years of age.
The five years of age statement is required for the enrolment into school.
The National Immunisation Program is the perfect way to make sure your child will have these documents when the time for school enrolment comes.
