What I find amazing is how consecutive state governments support the benefits of rail reintroduction to South Gippsland, yet aren’t prepared to make the call and make it happen.
With the enormous spread of suburbs out of Cranbourne extending to Clyde and Devon Meadows it just seems logical that the existing thoroughfare should be upgraded and bring rail travel to maybe the South Gippsland people – trains from Leongatha to Cranbourne maybe four times (small rural trains) a day and then connect to the metro system.
It could also run freight if a night time.
