It is not often we get three good movies all in the matter of two weeks and I thought I would share my thoughts with the community as it may motivate some of you to catch one or all of them.
The Sense of an Ending: A thought provoking movie about what we might or are doing in our teenage and young adult years and whilst we may have moved on with our lives, how have those actions impacted on the people that have been at the receiving end of those actions.
The Shack: The name is deceiving, but if anyone has been or struggles with child abduction or in fact any tragedy, this movie asks us to view the struggle from a spiritual angle. We are challenged to forgive, be patient, not judge and seek wisdom and belief that there is a higher power in everything. If we can keep our minds open without the boundaries we normally carry, this will allow us to look at things from a different perspective.
The Big Sick: A great laugh at culture, the ignorance of racism and boxing people and following one’s heart to challenge those differences. This movie has a lot of laughs but yet a lot of serious lessons to learn.
I am no movie critic, but I just love going to the movies and I normally share my thoughts with friends, but I thought this time I will share it with the wider community. It is just a change of pace from what we normally read in the opinions section of the paper.
Dilene Hinton, Inverloch.
