AT the South Gippsland Dairy Expo last week, local farmers and other expo attendees put their hand milking skills to the test in the Big Gippsland Jersey Milk Off. Milk Offs were held on both days of the expo, with eight competitors each time, picked from the crowd gathered in the Ross Family Stand at Korumburra Showgrounds.
The rules were simple: one hand, one teat and one minute to get the most milk.
Jeff McCauley of Cora Lynn took out the trophy on Wednesday, and Langwarrin resident Tracey milked her way to victory on Thursday.
