THE annual Wattle Bank Community Group barbecue was held on a perfect Sunday recently.
Residents of many years of this hamlet of residential acreage properties, as well as some new faces of the district, turned up to find out more about current changes and events affecting the community over food, easy company and springtime at it’s very best.
The Wattle Bank Community Group aims to increase its membership this year in order to be able to advocate on behalf of the local residents, helping create a sense of community through events and regular communication.
This particular event was again held at Kongwak Pioneer Reserve.
The WBCG was grateful for the kind assistance from the Kongwak community, sharing their space.
Seeking Bass Coast Shire Council’s support in developing Wattle Bank’s own community space was high on the agenda of the WBCG and hopefully this will be something the community group can achieve soon.
